Engobes is the result of an experiment with metal oxides, industrial stoneware, and soil from Jiutepec, Mexico. The project led to the development of a series of clay slips suitable for high-temperature firing.

The Jiutepec Series is an application of the Engobes project in contemporary design objects. The series melds mass production processes with hand finishing methods, offering novel technical properties and alternative uses for local materials.
