Engobes I ~ IV

Engobes I, II, III & IV derived from several experiments as an attempt to mix Jiutepec clay (from Morelos, Mexico) with conventional stoneware pastry. After some trial and error processes, the result came out as a lead-free, stoneware-friendly engobe suitable for high temperature firing.

 

Collaborative project with master ceramist Rubén Flores. 
Honorable Mention Award (6th Ceramics Biennale — 2013).

 

Self initiated project, self-production.
Materials: Jiutepec clay, stoneware slip.
Year of development: 2012.
